“Pienaarsrivier is a small town 55 km due north of Pretoria, north of the Pienaars River established in 1908. The town and the river were named after a Voortekker pioneer with the surname Pienaar. The Northern Sotho name of this river is Moretele, from which the Moreletaspruit derives its name.” - Chris Smit, 2024/10/01
